8.17.2010 - Older Businesses, Newer Websites - JC Heights (.com)
A few weeks ago I met with Lauren Ricca, Director of CASID (Central Avenue Special Improvement District) & Editor-In-Chief of the Jersey City Heights News. Our discussion was about the businesses on Central Avenue, especially older businesses, and how in a struggling economy they could find more customers and clients. There are so many businesses who depend on foot traffic and I wanted them to realize that for FREE or minimal costs, they could have a web presence and the ROI (return on investment) would be amazing. I was contacted by Phyllis Zimbler Miller (we're both Savor the Success members), because she needed a bit of help understanding some of the settings on Facebook. I was only too happy to explain. Since her site is all about helping people effectively use social media, I was honored that she plugged me in her post!

7.15.2010 - GD USA - Green E-Newsletter
Graphic Design USA features me in their July Green Newsletter. I designed five t-shirts (so far) which express how I feel about the BP Oil Spill. 5.24.2010 - GD USA - 2010 Web Design Awards Announced!
I just received notification that I won a design award from Graphic Design USA for the website I created for the interior designer, Margo Cohen, who is based in NYC.

4.30.2010 - thebokenonline.com - SAVE THE FROGS Day!
Thanks to "thebokenonline" for featuring the cause of Frogs Are Green and Save the Frogs on "Save the Frogs" day! We have a display up at Hoboken City Hall and they showed that also.

4.16.2010 - Hoboken, NJ and transportation director, Ian Sacs, features the new logo I created for the crosstown bus system named "The Hop." Blue, green and red lines will cover three routes throughout the city. The logos should appear on the buses soon.

4.13.2010 - Hoboken411 features Frogs Are Green, our posters for Earth Day, our display in Hoboken City Hall and that we'll be attending the Earth Day Festival at Liberty State Park on April 24, 2010.

We were contacted by this writer a few weeks ago because he wanted to write about our cause. After a short interview, he’s published the article on the site Patch.com and it shows photos of our display in Hoboken City Hall.

I'm proud to be one of eleven "green" design agencies featured in the October issue of GD USA. Looking around my website, you will see many of my clients are non-profit organizations and theater companies, as well as my two blogs, "Frogs Are Green"(about the frog extinction crisis, the connection to global warming and deforestation and destruction of rainforests) and "i-tees" (blogging on green printing, publishing, living a healthier eco-friendly lifestyle, and the arts).

Susan and Mary Jo Rhodes are featured in the business profiles section for their cause, Frogs Are Green. "Prospere Magazine made its debut online on January 8, 2008. Following its initial three months, the magazine moved from a monthly to a weekly publication. Prospere Magazine makes content updates daily, including exciting company profiles, designer profiles and regular polls."

I just received notification that I won two awards for poster design. "Comic Potential" which was designed for Hudson Theatre Ensemble(in Hoboken, NJ) and "Henry V" which was designed for Actors Shakespeare Company at NJCU(in Jersey City, NJ).

I have been asked to join a panel discussion to take place on Sunday, August 30, 2009 at the School of Visual Arts. We will be discussing our careers and how SVA helped shape us. As a graduate of SVA, it's an honor to speak to the Freshman class and welcome them.

7.25.2009 - Cat & Moon Productions - Book signing and Luncheon Event for Thorsten Kaye
I attended the book signing (see more photos) and luncheon yesterday at Trinity Restaurant in Hoboken. Thorsten Kaye, actor and author of the children's book, A Solid Wheel of Colored Ribbons, published by Cat & Moon Productions. illustrated by Tami Evans Foster, colored by Hugh Harrison and book/jacket design by SNDI. There were about 100+ people there, various photographers and Thorsten and Tami met each person and signed their books. A woman came by our table and asked Hugh and I to sign the book also, saying it wasn't complete without us all. That was awesome. Thorsten sat next to me at the publishers table and we had a lovely chat, while eating the fabulous food, and Hugh (colorist) and I really got to know him better. Charming and very personable. He also gave me a sneak peek into his next story...

Mary Jo Rhodes, a published author of nature books, and I have launched our new custom blog to raise awareness of the frog extinction crisis and how you can help the threat to amphibians. Our most recent post published on July 9, 2009 discusses the charity organization, The Prince's Rainforest Project along with a featured YouTube video starring Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Robin Williams. the Dalai Lama, Princes William and Harry and Prince Charles along with a lifelike animated frog. 5.20.09 - 99Designs - Logo design contest for "The Bright Side Group"

2009 - Actors Shakespeare Company at NJCU

The inaugural competition generated hundreds of entries from across the United States, including websites, enewsletters, blogs and banners. Companies ranged from independent design firms to ad agencies to corporate and non-profit inhouse departments. Of the hundreds of entries, sixty were selected as winners representing a highly selective 40 individual companies and organizations. I'm proud to announce that SNDI won an award for the website, Actors Shakespeare Company at NJCU.
